Overall, the chart of accounts redesign was a very beneficial project for both Finance and the users of our general ledger accounts. It reduced the number of accounts and made it easier to complete the LGDE, financial statements, and financial analysis.
At the start of the project, I certainly had some anxiety because of the change and not having ever done a chart of accounts conversion before. But working with our software providers and Municipal 360, the conversion process and change was certainly a lot easier and more efficient than I had anticipated.
